Critical Thinking
Course Description: Explores different methods of enhancing the quality of learning and life by systematically improving an individual’s way of thinking. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Recognize the traits of the fair-minded thinker. 2. Explain the concept of intellectual standards for thinking. 3. Develop questions that result in critical thinking. 4. Apply analytical reasoning to a variety of situations. 5. Identify strategies for self-assessment. 6. Apply decision-making patterns that result in problem-solving. 7. Recognize bias and fallacies in messages from mass media and other sources.
